It has been confirmed that the RIAA has dumped MediaSentry - known for scrubbing the tawdry digital seas for music pirates - for DtecNet Software ApS to do their dirty work. Judging by the name of DtecNet alone, it's pretty scary looking ...like something you'd see in your background processes hogging 75% of your system resources or putting 1Khz beeps in all your dirty rap.

Since the RIAA announced it wasn't going to sue users anymore, but cut them off that those folks at the ISP level instead, DtecNet probaly offered a more compatible system that can report data of infringers directly to ISPs thus reducing labor costs to the RIAA. At least that's how this stuff *usually* works...but I am only a simple recording guy, so take my opinion as far as you can throw an MTR-90 (that's a big ass 24 track for you youngsters).
